Probationary, Tenure-Track, Nine Month Appointment*
Metropolitan State University, America's premier university for lifelong learning, is seeking applicants for a probationary tenure track Law Enforcement faculty position for an August 2013 appointment. This is a full-time position in Metropolitan State University's School of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice. The successful candidate's workload will include teaching undergraduate courses, student advising, maintaining expertise in a discipline and in pedagogy, serving on departmental and university committees, contributing to student growth and development, scholarly activities and service to the university and communities. Candidates are expected to be committed to multiculturalism and to working effectively with a diverse student body.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's Degree.
- Demonstrated commitment to serving intellectually, culturally, ethnically and linguistically diverse communities.
- Minnesota POST Licensed, minimum ten years working in a law enforcement agency.
- ABD or Terminal degree
- Demonstrated ability to teach effectively at the college/university level within criminal justice/law enforcement related fields: i.e. criminal justice ethics, criminal procedure and investigation; literature in criminal justice, and other law enforcement and/or topics
- Demonstrated commitment to community engagement
- Demonstrated teaching experience in continued education in a Criminal justice Agency
Salary: Salary is commensurate with education and experience, and is determined by the salary placement process as outlined in the Inter Faculty Organization (IFO) Master Agreement
